Pregnant Rachel Stevens still keeping glam as she countdowns last few weeks before baby

A very pregnant Rachel Stevens cut a glamorous figure as she ran errands near her home in north London yesterday. Perfectly made-up with not a hair out of place, the 32-year-old looked blooming as she approaches the birth of her first child with husband Alex Bourne, who she married last year. There can't be many mums-to-be who teeter around town wearing sky-high stilettos in their eighth month of pregnancy. But it looks as though the Strictly Come Dancing star may have regretted her uncomfortable choice of footwear if her glum expression is anything to go by. Looking incredibly trim, despite the late stage of her pregnancy, the former S Club 7 singer appeared decidedly downcast. Perhaps she also realised her fashion faux-pas of stepping out in exactly the same outfit that she wore just a few weeks ago.

Her grey power-shouldered cardigan seems to be a favourite with the fashionista, who has made a point of upping the glamour stakes throughout her pregnancy. Well, if you find a look that works... On her official website, the star gushes about her love of fashion and re-creating catwalk looks at high street prices. She even gives her loyal fans tips on what's hot and what's not.

Presumably her favourite 'comfort' cardigan will be making an appearance on the list soon. And it seems likely that the new addition to the family will be one very well dressed baby judging by mum's impeccable taste. But the couple will have to wait and see if they need to stock up on baby pinks or blues. They have decided to keep the sex of their baby a surprise although it seems that friends and family are convinced she's expecting a baby girl: ‘Neither of us mind what we have but most people think that I’m having a girl, but I really don’t know.’

A whole host of famous names have joined forces to raise money for Breast Cancer Campaign, by creating a life-size patchwork smart car to mark the launch of the limited edition smart fortwo pink passion. The patchwork smart is made entirely of fabric donated by celebrities and will be auctioned-off with all proceeds going to Breast Cancer Campaign. smart will also donate £10,000 to the charity from sales of the smart fortwo pink passion. Over 20 celebrities including Russell Brand, Ryan Giggs, Sara Cox, Elizabeth Hurley, Rachel Stevens, Twiggy Lawson, Joanna Lumley and Jane McDonald have all donated swatches of pink fabric to help create the life-size smart fortwo. The one-off patchwork smart car will be up for auction on eBay. It will be on show at Mercedes Benz World in Surrey throughout October 2010.

Franklin Jacoyange, Corporate Partnership Executive, Breast Cancer Campaign comments: "We are delighted to have the support of smart and so many celebrities during October's Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Money raised will help the charity fund vital research to help us beat breast cancer."

Fabric donated to create the patchwork smart includes everything from shirts and bras to blankets and babygro's, with celebrities sending messages of support for the auction:

"The squares were cut from my youngest daughter's outgrown vests. I hope with all my heart that a cure for Breast Cancer will be discovered before she reaches womanhood" - Radio 1 DJ, Sara Cox.

"My piece of pink material is a bra because post breast cancer, I can no longer wear pretty underwired underwear like this...still, a small price to pay. Here's to happiness and good luck with the auction" - Chat show host and Breast Cancer survivor, Trisha Goddard.

"I'd like to donate a doll's babygro chosen by my daughter. Here's to raising lots of money for Breast Cancer Campaign" - Manchester United footballer, Ryan Giggs.

Celebrities who have donated fabric to the smart pink passion patchwork quilt are: Russell Brand, June Brown, Klariza Clayton, Twiggy Lawson, Claire Cooper, Sara Cox, Cheryl Fergison, Ryan Giggs, Trisha Goddard, Elizabeth Hurley, Twiggy Lawson, Zoe Lister, Joanna Lumley, Jane MacDonald, Kym Marsh, Martine McCutcheon, Dawn Porter, Adele Silva, Rachel Stevens, Margherita Taylor, Nina Wadia.

Only 100 models of the smart fortwo pink passion are available to buy in the UK, with smart donating £10,000 from the total sales to Breast Cancer Campaign.

Rachel Stevens, the former Strictly Come Dancing contestant, who is eight months pregnant with her first child, is struggling with names. “Those traditional names are great, but everyone knows someone who is called it,” the pop star said at the launch of Michael McIntyre’s memoirs, Life & Laughing. Alex Bourne, her husband, added: “I was thinking, maybe Banana, or Kumquat.”

RACHEL Stevens happily shows off her burgeoning baby bump while running errands in West London yesterday. Previously famed for her flesh-revealing outfits - like the skimpy sparkly dresses she wore on Strictly Come Dancing - the mum-to-be has obviously decided to tone things down now she's pregnant, dressing all in black. The former S Club 7 singer, who is expecting her first child with husband Alex Bourne in November, was recently spotted keeping fit in the park with a personal trainer. But that doesn't mean that the 32-year-old is unhappy with her current figure - she's said that being pregnant makes her feel sexy, adding that she loves having a bump.
